SAVE the DATE for a Halloween Costume Party Where: 4F Queen Terrace When: Oct. 19th Time: 6:30-10p Cost: An appetizer Prizes for: Best Costume, Most Original Costume and Bob for Apple Winner We will be having a Bonfire right after our Week 6 Game vs the 49ers on October 11th at 6pm in the parking of the drive-inn. We hope that everyone - Ladies and Families can stay afterwards to have smores, some hot-dogs, hot chocolate and other beverages. The hope is that we can spend some time as Powder Puff Families. We will be expending the invitation to the 49ers as well! We had pictures first thing this morning at 8:30am. We missed Diane and Lauren this morning, but they caught up with us later. As we stayed together as a team, we walked up to McDonald's for a quick hot chocolate, as well as a way to warm up our legs prior to the game. As we walked with the Ladies, we were joined by two mom's - Tina and Olivia's Moms, leading the group while Christina and I were the caboose. It was great to see how the ladies walked together, talked together, and my favorite part of the morning, was them ladies singing!!! They were awesome! I think we even found a theme song - Can't Hold Us by Macklemore. The ladies were joined in song by the tackle boys as we returned to the field. It was scheduled, it occurred and it has been accomplished! Our First Team Building Activity was a great success! We learned how to mirror each other with the help of Cotton Eye Joe and the Cupid Shuffle. We watched Facing the Giants which is about building confidence, having faith in a higher power, in your team, respecting your team mates and parents - but most of all, coming to the field with a positive attitude! I am not sure that everyone walked away from the movie with that message, so I thought I would share with you the scope of the movie. We worked on a little offense and identified each of the Ladies positions, ended with dessert, thanks to Christina (who could not be with us - hope you won your game) for the cupcakes and brownies, cantaloupe and cookies from the Brazil's, and ice cream from the Miller's - some of the Ladies did not get to enjoy the ice cream, but some did! Thank you so much! It was a pleasure to have the Giants over to the house - I am so proud of each of them for being who they are! By the way, we missed Lauren and Rebecca tonight. Rebecca - I hope you had a great Birthday!!
See everyone on Tuesday! Remember - study really hard and finish your homework, then practice, practice, practice! SVMFL Families,
SVMFL is hosting the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick (PPK) competition on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 12:30 p.m. on our football fields. The competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 6-15. For more competition information or to pre-register online for our local competition, visit www.nflppk.com The NFL Punt, Pass & Kick football competition allows youngsters to showcase their talents in punting, passing, and kicking with scores based on distance and accuracy. Girls and boys in five separate age divisions (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15) compete against each other in punting, passing and place kicking. Age classification is as of December 31, 2013. A valid birth certificate must be presented at the time of competition. The top finishers from each of ten age groups at the local competition will advance to a sectional competition. The winners at the sectional competition will have their scores compared with other sectional champions and the top four scorers from the pool of sectional champions advance to the Team Championship. We need volunteers to help staff the event. If you would like to volunteer - measure the punt, passes and kicks, or staff registration table - please contact Terri O’Shea at [email protected] Our photography session has been cancelled due to a death in the immediately family! I ask that you keep Roscoe and his family in your prayers. We will be informed of our rescheduled date! Thank you all for being on the field today. The girls enjoyed their time together!! Picture days have been scheduled around team games on Saturday, Sept. 14, and Saturday, Sept. 21 on the field behind the Equipment Room. Our date is Saturday, September 21st at 10:15 am. (I do hope that is enough time to have your uniforms washed from the night before!) The photo forms will be available to fill out before your scheduled picture time, and the photo schedule is attached. I would like to hold a Team Building Activity this Sunday, September 15th, 2013 at 4pm. I will be serving Pizza, Water, Soda and dessert while we watch an incredible football team called Facing the Giants (2006) 111 min - PG This movie is about a losing coach with an underdog football team faces their GIANTS of fear and failure on and off the field to surprising results. I hope that everyone can join in the activity in my house 4F Queen Terrace. Bring a pillow and a blanket to camp out on my living room floor to watch the movie. It is hard to think about an end of season celebration, but time flies when we are having fun. What do you think about having a Formal Powder Puff and Flag event? The idea is have the Ladies feel like “Young Ladies” by allowing them to wear dresses/heels/makeup BUT we don’t let them forget that they are football players so they would have to be adorned with their flag belts as a part of their attire! Eye Black is optional.
During this celebration we will be giving out awards, super bowl champ presentation and special recognition for the graduates. I have put up a Poll on the Home page. Take a moment and complete the poll. Tell me what you think!! Hi Families,
