Game 9: Steelers vs. Giants Play-off Game 28 vs. 0
Well, it is the play-offs, and we are playing under the lights on a cold fall night at Rec Park. There is an insane amount of chatter coming from the Steelers that they are going to win the game in the first half of the game! SURPRISE!!!!! That was not the case at all. Wow, the first half the game was intense - we did not let them score at all. It was incredible and you can hear the tension coming from the coach as he barked out plays to this team.
We did not have a whole team tonight. We missed Olivia and Sarah. We did an incredible job tonight under the lights. The flags were fantastic tonight - we fought every inch of the way. GREAT JOB Lady Giants!!!! I am so very proud of you Ladies! |

Game 8: 49ers vs. Giants 21 vs. 6
What an incredible game! One because we finally scored an official touchdown on the books against! The touchdown was completed with help of Quarterback MacKenzie and Izabella. The line blocked long enough for Mackenzie to align herself, Izabella to find an open position and a great throw into the endzone.
This was the first game that I was not able to be on the field with the Lady Giants. Christina was on the field leading and directing the Ladies. I felt horrific, severe back pains, a killer fever, a terrible cough that just made it so difficult to breath. But there was nothing that would stop me from watching my Lady Giants play. To see their eyes, even if it is in tears, frustration and disappointment. They show courage coming to every practice and every game. That is what teamwork is and that is what brings me to the field for every practice and game! I'm so proud of each of my Lady Giants! |

Game 7: Packers vs. Giants 12 - 0
This week we practiced with the Packers. It was not an ordinary practice with the Packers - we played 3 games of Capture the Flag which we won all three. The Lady Giants showed determination in protecting the goals - they had a lot of fun. The low point of this practice was that Sarah hit a hidden packet in the field, twisted her ankle and her knee. She will be off her feet for the rest of the season. MRI showed bruising but no major tears so she can come back next season ready to play! We will miss Miss Sarah on the field but we hope that she recoops and heals quickly for next sport season.

Game 6: 49ers vs. Giants 6 to 0
What an incredible week we had during practice. We have been struggling to play as a team, especially in the area of following directions, blocking and communicating to each other indicating who is covering what opponent.
Well, this coach went old school. Yes, I had them write 10x each... I will follow directions... I will block my opponents... I will grab my opponents flags... I will catch the football... Tonight's game was played by a totally different group of girls! There was communication, blocking, catching of some interceptions and lots of flags. Diane made a touchdown and even though it was then taken away since the referees called a penalty on us for blocking, we still count it!!!! :-) Great job Lady Giants! I am so proud of how you played tonight!! |

Game 4: Packers vs. Giants 21 to 0
What do Captains do?
We pick 2 new captains for each game. Captains lead the team in warm ups the day of the game, participate in the coin toss, select the end zone and if we will the coin toss - whether or not we receive, defend and/or defer the decision. The Lady Giants did an incredible job on defense during the first and second quarter!! We changed our strategy on defense and offense, which did allow us to hold the Packers from scoring. We did not win this game, but it was great to see a little more teamwork and a stone wall. This game we introduced to the Packers a different quarterback - Rebecca, who did a good job. We will continue to work on offensive blocking and catching this week. Susie...we know you had your boys playing today for Southington High School squad, and I'm glad to hear that they won today. We missed having you on the field taking pictures! |

Game 3: 49ers vs. Giants 28 - 0
Our first opportunity to play on the Big field under the lights. Also our first time, playing so late - a 9pm game. For that reason we also have no pictures for this game.
From Game 2, we had a couple of injuries, Alexa, Sarah, Lauren and Jazmine, and I am happy to tell you, with the exception of Alexa, everyone is doing well. Alexa will be out for a couple of games due to a fraction of her finger. Although we still need to work on our blocking for our offense, the ladies worked hard on the defense. We had busy flag hands, Diane with 5 flags and 3 sacs, Izabella and Sarah with 3 flags too! the Miller ladies had their hands also on flags along with Rebecca, Marina and Mackenzie. We will be working on blocking and catching this upcoming week. |

September 13th, 2013 Steelers vs. Giants 0-26
This game was very interesting to watch! We have incredible talent: passing, running, catching, flag grabbing and blocking! Yes, I said it, we can block...when we want too! Yes, Ladies, we have an incredible amount of talent on the field and now we need to build the confidence and play the game we are meant to play. We had a few injuries...Sarah (ankle), Alexa (jammed finger) and Lauren (kick to the shin), which I am hoping each of you will recover soon! Remember ICE!!!! Keep practicing: catching, throwing and exercising in between games. |

Game 1: Giants vs. Packers ~ 0 - 30
I want to quickly thank Susie Kulas for taking the pictures at today's game - Thank you, Susie!!
September 7th, 2013 Giants vs. Packers 0-30 Well, the touchdowns were hard to take in, but the Ladies were getting flags left and right! They were sliding and running to get those flags. We had two minor injuries, Alexa (knocked knees getting a flag) and Jazmin also trying to grab a flag. I spoke to them both this evening, they are quickly recovering and doing well. I am very proud of each the Ladies for all their efforts - especially the newbies on the team. I can be overwhelming to get on the field and play the whole field when we have only been playing a quarter of it! Keep practicing: catching, throwing and exercising in between games. |
